Helen Mirren Debuts Blue Hair to Match her Form-Fitting Dress at Cannes Film Festival

We can always count on Helen Mirren to bring drama to the red carpet, and she did not disappoint at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The 77-year-old rocked a bright blue hairstyle that perfectly matched her form-fitting Del Core sky blue gown, and the actor oozed style confidence while making a compelling case for dying hair in the exact same shade as an outfit.

For the opening ceremony of the prestigious film festival, Mirren's hair was curled and piled high on her head in a Marie Antoinette style. With a closer look, clips were added to the voluminous work of art and it was clear to see it wasn't a monochromatic dye, either. Instead, variations of the colour blue, ranging from navy to cobalt, with sky blue and ice blue in the mix, too. Styled by Lee Harris, her custom Del Core gown came complete with a train at the back, and a flattering V-neckline, accentuated by a diamond necklace and drop earrings. She accessorised with fan, emblazoned with the iconic L'Oreal phrase "Worth It", to further add to the flamboyant aesthetic and highlight her ambassadorship for the beauty brand.

This isn't the first time Mirren has brought coloured hair to the Cannes red carpet either. The star showcased a candyfloss pink, cropped hairstyle at the 2019 film festival on the French Riviera. One thing's for sure, Mirren knows how to make a Cannes red carpet entrance. See more of her blue 'do below.
