The Star-Studded Cast For Ryan Murphy's The Prom Adaptation Will Make Your Jaw Drop

The cast for Ryan Murphy's movie adaptation of The Prom is coming together quite nicely. Deadline recently reported that Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Ariana Grande, Kerry Washington, and a handful of other stars have signed on for the project, which is based on the Tony-nominated musical of the same name. The show made its Broadway debut in 2018 and follows four famous Broadway stars who try to help a young girl named Emma, after learning that she has been banned from taking her girlfriend to her high school prom. Murphy is reportedly set to direct and produce the film sometime later this December, with an anticipated Fall 2020 release date.

The Netflix film is part of Murphy's giant deal with the streaming service which will allow him to produce both TV shows and films. He's already hit the ground running with series like The Politician, Ratched, and Hollywood, so The Prom is just the icing on the cake. With several Emmys under his belt and a recent Tony win, we have a feeling Murphy is coming for that EGOT! See the rest of the star-studded cast for The Prom ahead.
