We've all been waiting for summer to arrive for what feels like years, but (not to jinx it) but if might actually finally be upon us. And even if the weather's not joining the party, from this month onwards the summer events and festivals programme here in the UK really kicks into gear. Although this summer is forecast to be the wettest summer in the UK in 100 years, there is still a lot to look forward to in the coming months.

The sheer amount of events around this time can be overwhelming to keep up with, but PS UK knows a thing or two about the best summer events you need to add to your list. So, to make things easier we've compiled a list of the best events to head to this summer; from festivals to exhibitions to days out. Not even the rain can stop our fun this summer.

NAOMI: In Fashion - V&A Museum

NAOMI: In Fashion - V&A Museum

The V&A's first exhibition of its kind, this show explored the legendary 40 year career of high fashion model Naomi Campbell. Through the work of global designers and photographers she has worked with with, the exhibition will take you on a journey through time and celebrate her creative collaborations, activism and impact on the modelling industry.

When: The Exhibition opens on the 22 June.

Notting Hill Carnival

Notting Hill Carnival

If you're looking for Soca music, delicious Caribbean food and good vibes, look no further than Notting Hill Carnival. The street party is a celebration of London's Caribbean community where Mas bands flood the area with colourful costumes, dancing and singing. It's a vibe like no other and the three-mile parade draws in over two million people, including thousands of tourists, each year. Summer isn't complete in London without Notting Hill Carnival.

Where: It's in the name; Notting Hill Carnival spans the streets of the Notting Hill area in Kensington.

When: The parade takes place on the 25 August and 26 August. That's your August Bank Holiday weekend plans sorted.

The best thing about Notting Hill Carnival is that it's a free weekend for all. Enjoy!

DLT The Recipe

DLT The Recipe

Days Like This (DLT) have announced their first ever festival in July. The single day festival will bring together some of the top and upcoming R&B acts from the US and the UK; including two-time Grammy-award winning singer Jazmine Sullivan, SiR and Alex Isley. For those who enjoy DLT's thrilling day parties, this will surely be an event with a similar vibe.

Where: This one of a kind festival will take place at Gunnersbury Park, London.

When: 6 July

All Points East

All Points East

The now iconic London festival has a stellar line-up this year gracing its beautiful Victoria Park site. Headliners Kaytranada, Loyle Carner, Mitski (pictured), LCD Soundsystem and The Postal Service & Death Cab for Cutie will take to the stage over the weekends. But during the week, there's also a load of free-to-enter programmes for the local community, like theatre, family activities and wellbeing events.

Creamfields

Creamfields

Creamfields is a key date on the clubbing calendar for the majority of electronic-music lovers. This is one of the biggest dance festivals in the UK, and brings in thousands of thousands of party animals site. This year Calvin Harris and Chase & Status will headline the festival.

Where: Creamfields takes place right between Liverpool and Manchester in Daresbury, Cheshire.

When: Creamfields will also take place over the Bank Holiday, which falls this year on 22-25 of August.

Free Books Campaign Festival

Free Books Campaign Festival

The Free Books Campaign aim is to improve literacy rates of children in low-income families and also increase access to books written by authors of colour. For its third annual literary book festival, the Free Books Campaign will provide a free bookstore, a creche for parents and sign-language interpreters to ensure inclusivity. The multi-day festival will be full of visual art, music and inspiration. The most incredible part it, the literary festival is free for all to attend.

Barbican Outdoor Cinema

Barbican's Outdoor Cinema series has returned for yet another year with an entertaining lineup of films to watch under the city's stars. Be prepared to enjoy a night of stellar cinema at Barbican's Sculpture Court with friends, family or a special someone — complete with a selection of street food vendors and bars. Upcoming films include Godzilla, An American in Paris, The Grand Budapest Hotel and much more!

Where: Silk St, Barbican, London.

On The Mount at Wasing

On The Mount at Wasing

One of the most special events around, the Wasing Estate on June 20 this year will hold Solstice on the Mount, headlined by Nick Mulvey and Rodrigo y Gabriela. The event promises "a magical, cosmic evening filled with exceptional music, food, and mindfulness, all in a breathtaking natural setting on the longest day of the year".

Throughout the summer, they'll also then hold the On The Mount At Wasing concert series - there are still tickets to see Jungle and Underworld. If the estate takes your fancy, they also run wild swimming and wellness events throughout the year.

Reading and Leeds Festival

Reading and Leeds Festival

This year artists like Raye, Liam Gallagher, 21 Savage, Pendulum and Lana Del Rey will take to the stage across both locations at the classic summer festival.

Where: Reading Festival takes place on Little John's Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading. Whereas the Leeds festival is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby.

When: 23-25 of August.

Glastonbury Festival

When you think of iconic UK summer festivals, I'm sure Glastonbury comes to mind. This is the UK's biggest festival and since 1970 the likes of David Bowie, Muse, Radiohead and Beyoncé have headlined the multi-day event. This year, popstars Dua Lipa and SZA take to the Pyramid stage, as well as Coldplay and Shania Twain. By now, you should already have your tents ready to go and take it from us, it will be an unforgettable experience.

Where: Pilton, Somerset.

When: Glastonbury 2024 starts on June 26 and runs until June 30.
