Prequels are having a moment. Following the huge success of "House of the Dragon" (which is a prequel of "Game of Thrones", if you didn't already know), "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" (a prequel to the novel "The Lord of the Rings" and the film trilogy it spawned) will be released on Prime Video on 1 Sept. And ahead of the impending launch date, the cast arrived in their gladrags at the Leicester Square red carpet in London on 30 Aug to get us excited.

Plus, the cast arrived in theme . . . kind of. We love a premiere outfit that echoes the vibe of the film or TV show, and the "Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" actors hit the nail on the head with their otherworldly looks. In true leading-lady style, Morfydd Clark — who plays the elf Galadriel — stunned in two different dresses over the course of the night. Walking the red carpet in a silver Vivienne Westwood sequin structured dress and switching into an asymmetric blue dress with a thigh-high split, the Welsh actor looked every bit as ethereal as her character in the show.

Robert Aramayo — who you may know from his role as young Eddard Stark in "Game of Thrones" — also donned a pair of outfits. The actor stepped out in a green velvet suit jacket and a blue silk shirt for the red carpet before changing into a cool, casual leather jacket for the afterparty at the British Museum.

Other cast members, such as Ismael Cruz Córdova, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Nazanin Boniadi, Markella Kavenagh, and Megan Richards, looked equally as glamorous. Also in attendance were "How to Get Away With Murder"'s Alfred Enoch and Sharon Duncan-Brewster from "Sex Education" and "Bad Girls", who both also dressed to impress.

Fans of the films and the books will be pleased to know that the fantasy series has already been renewed for a second season, and the cast are due to start filming the next part of the story in October. So, it's time to do your research about the cast and get to know the faces behind the mystical costumes and prosthetics . . . because they'll be sticking around for a while. Here's a closer look at their outfits.
